Today was our ultrasound appointment. Everything went great. Our baby girl is developing very well and everything was as it should be. We will now have our “matching set” so to speak.
As the weeks that have led up to this day passed, I have wondered if I would be as excited during this ultrasound as I was for Liam’s. I knew as I went in the room that I would be just as excited. My heart started racing and I felt a little short of breath…just like last time. I guess some things never change.
Katie’s parents and Grandmother are here for a visit and had never seen an ultrasound before. They were able to be in the room with us during the ultrasound. The general consensus was, “Wow that is neat.”
Needless to say, we are very excited. We have a strong contender for the title of “Best Girl Name Ever.” When we decide, it will show up here. Thanks for all the name ideas and healthy baby prayers. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Things are going well for us here in paradise. Katie is not quite 18 weeks along now. She is convinced that this one is a girl and I learned long ago that you do not argue with a pregnant woman. We have our ultrasound on the 27th so hopefully we will have a confirmation then.
We are currently preparing for a month of visitors. Katie’s parents, grandmother, and brother are coming for 10 days at the end of the month. Then Katie’s maid of honor is coming for a week. We get a one week break and then my dad and step mom are coming for a week long stay. We are really excited to have all the company.
We have tickets to go see The Lion King (the Broadway show is coming here) for Katie’s birthday on 28 September. In the weeks after that we will be preparing to send Katie and Liam home early. She will not be able to fly when she gets too far along, plus with the two of them back on the mainland, I can get things in order here for our move back to Texas and the next phase of our life.
I have a feeling this is the calm before the storm.
